The UVS-E-T has a spectral response that is adapted to the erythemal (sunburn) action spectrum of the human skin (ISO 17166:1999 / CIE S007/E-1998). Hence, this radiometer collects information of medical and public concern: UV Index, UV erythemal dose and dose rate.
The sensor output in MED/h (Minimum Erythemal Doses per hour) can be used to predict how long the human skin can be exposed to the sun before an erythema (reddening or sunburn) occurs. Due to the Robertson-Berger type spectral response of the UVS-E-T radiometer, this one can be related to existing monitoring network data. The high accuracy UVS-E-T is thermostated (heated / cooled at 25 ºC) including filters, detector and pre-amplifier. Due to the heating/cooling element it requires external power.
The UVS-E-T has a sealed, weather resistant case made from protected aluminum. The sensor permits continuous outdoor operation. The UVS-E-T can easily be adjusted in the horizontal by help of three leveling screws and the built-in circular bubble level.
The screw-in drying cartridge is easy to remove and the replacement desiccant is supplied in convenient refill packets.
